There's a Kickstarter campaign going on right now to fund a jacket that features several compartments to store almost everything you could possibly need to travel with. And it's pretty much a miracle jacket.
The Airport Jacket is wearable luggage, with the goal of saving you money on baggage fees so you can spend more on your trip. We're guessing you're just as into saving money as we are, so this could actually be a worthwhile purchase.
But the best part? You'll look good while wearing it.
The Kickstarter was created by Andrew Benke and Claire Murphy out of Sydney, Australia. You'd think a jacket that can carry up to 30 pounds of stuff would be difficult to make attractive, but it's actually stylish for both women and men. We'd sport it for sure.
Four different jackets are offered: the hooded jacket, the tailored jacket, the sleek jacket and the NYC jacket. They range from $183 to $229, but the company claims the jacket pays for itself with all the baggage fees you'll be saving.
The Airport Jacket works in three simple steps: pack your belongings in the pockets at home, wear it to check in and during boarding, then store it under the seat with the built-in carry bag.
You can also wear it three different ways:
There are enough pockets to store SO many of your travel items, so depending on how much you travel with, you may just need one small bag in addition to the jacket — or nothing else at all.
"Totaling 14 deep pockets, including 8 pockets at hip length, 11 pockets at 3⁄4 length and 14 pockets at full length, the Airport Jacket includes 2 detachable pocket panels and a carry-on size duffle bag," according to Kickstarter.
"When worn at full length The Airport Jacket is capable of carrying a laptop, an iPad, two pairs of shoes, a pair of jeans, three t-shirts, two pairs of shorts, underwear for 3-4 days, a light jumper, a dress, a toiletries bag, wallet, phone and passport with room to spare," the campaign goes on to explain.
So far, a little over $20,000 of the $75,693 goal has been met. Time is running out, so if you want to see the Airport Jacket become a reality, you know what to do. Check out the campaign here.
