Getting married can be one of the most magical times in your life. But it can also be the most stressful. Wedding planning is usually either something you've been looking forward to since forever ago, or it's the bane of your existence. Once you've reached the planning stages of getting married, there's no turning back.

Because weddings don't plan themselves.
Thanks to technology, you no longer have to plan a wedding like people used to. Instead of writing everything down by hand, sifting through a calendar made of paper, remembering to order things by certain dates, going to a million wedding dress stores, and physically going into stores to make a registry, you can simply do it all on your phone. At least the preliminary work, anyway. Wedding planning apps exist to make your life easier.
But you should still go taste test all the cakes, because duh.
Since there are at least 60,000 wedding planning apps to choose from (OK, maybe a slight exaggeration), we've narrowed them down to what we think are the best and most efficient.
Here we go.
Wedding Wire is a great app for the planner who wants to take care of everything in one place. With more than 200,000 local listings and 2.5 million reviews from brides, this venue and vendor database is perfect for searching for exactly what you want.
You can do a quick search and narrow down results based on type, location, price or rating. Once you've figured out what you want, you'll find checklists, budget templates, etiquette tips and an entire section dedicated to inspiration photos. Available for free on iOS and Android.
Probably the most popular website among brides, The Knot provides the necessary tools to plan your wedding step by step. First you'll start out with a checklist, then you'll budget how much you can spend on each area. You'll even be able to create your wedding website and registry through The Knot.
Another all-in-one app that's perfect for making to-do lists, guest lists, budgets and more. iWedding Deluxe allows you to add photos from your camera to keep all of your inspiration in one spot.
The greatest feature is definitely the guest list section, which is incredibly detailed. You can track RSVPs, record meal choices and make seating charts for both the reception and the rehearsal dinner. Available for $0.99 on iOS.
LadyMarry is the best app for on-the-go DIY planning. It helps you plan your wedding in collaborative way by connecting you with local vendors to get price quotes, etc.
WeddingHappy gets down to business. Not only does the app help you plan out each and every task, it allows you to sync events and contacts with your phone's calendar and address book. At the end of the day — that'll really save some time and effort.
WeddingHappy is really great for payment tracking, because you have all of your vendors and costs in one place. Your balance, cost per guest and remaining budget will automatically adjust when you enter a fee — making budgeting a lot less stressful. Available for free on iOS.
