There's an adorable little robot that teaches kids to code in a super fun way, while simultaneously expanding their minds and promoting creativity and critical thinking skills.
The Ozobot is a smart robot that comes to life through a color command language, and it's so small, it fits in the palm of your hands. All you need is markers and paper to color different combinations, and Ozobot responds with actions like spinning, dancing, and zig-zagging.
Ozobot uses block-based programming, similar to Google's Blockly. Players can drag in blocks of code to create a sequence of directions for the robot to follow. Once you get the hang of things, you can even hack into the Ozobot to re-program its features and change the color commands.
The robot definitely caters to kids, but you're never too old to learn how to code (or play with robots). Connect to the Ozobot app for additional games, adventures, and new levels.

For some added fun, Ozobot offers Disney's Marvel Action Skins, like Captain America and Ultron for the 2nd generation robot (Ozobot Evo) and Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man Action Skins for their 1st generation robot (Ozobot Bit). When you put an Action Skin on Ozobot, the robot displays characteristics of each superhero from the popular films and speak in its character's voice.
The Ozobot starts at $59, and you can purchase one here.
