It's finally happening. After 20 years, Atari is releasing a new game console, and it's going to make all of your Atari dreams come true.
Video of the Day
The Ataribox has been teased by Atari for a while now, but after much anticipation, fans were finally given a bit more information in an email update from the company, including what it'll look like.
Here's what we know
Similar to the NES Classic, Atari will be offering classic games on the console. But it'll also have the ability to run current games, which means it could be used as a modern set-top gaming device.
The design seems to be inspired by the original console released in 1977. It features black ribbed lines and a raised back. There will be ports for an SD card, HDMI, and four USB. Two versions of the Ataribox will be released — one in wood and one in black and red. Other than that, Atari didn't release any other details about the Ataribox's specifications.

No word yet on pricing or a release date yet.
"We know you are hungry for more details; on specs, games, pricing, timing," reads the Atari statement. "We're not teasing you intentionally; we want to get this right, so we've opted to share things step by step as we bring this to life, and to listen closely to the Atari community feedback as we do so."
We'll just wait right here.
