Sometimes simple things can seem difficult in Microsoft Word 2007. The program is much different from previous versions of Word, so some simple commands have slightly changed or are in different places. If you've inserted a page break or section break and now want to delete it, the task might seem somewhat confusing at first. The process, however, is identical to past versions of Word. The difference is the name of the view modes and the positions of the buttons.
Switch into "Draft View" by clicking on the button in the "Document Views" section of the "View" tab. Place the cursor right before the break and press the "Delete" or "Backspace" key.
Place the cursor in front of the paragraph that occurs after the break. Click the "Paragraph" button on the "Home" tab of the Ribbon. Select the tab that says "Line and Page Breaks" and check the box that says "Keep with next."
Save your work and close Word 2007. Open the program back up and try to delete the break again.
