How Can I Track My Data Usage?

By Taylor DiVico

Data usage on a cell phone is based on applications such as text-messaging, Web browsing and GPS directions that require an Internet connection through the service provider. Data usage is typically measured in kilobytes, megabytes or gigabytes. Those with plans that allow for unlimited data usage do not need to track their usage, as do those on fixed plans. Tracking data usage can prevent you from exceeding your plan limit so that you do not have to pay a higher monthly bill.
