How do I Bypass a Password on iTouch?
Restore your iPod Touch to its original factory state if you forget the passcode. Restoring is the only way to unlock the device and gain access to the iPod. Connect the iTouch to the last computer you synced it to. This will allow you to reset the password and resync iPod data. If you use a different computer, you can unlock the iPod and remove the password, but you will lose all of the iPod's data.
Connect the iTouch to a computer using the iPod USB power cable that came with the device.
Open iTunes if it doesn't launch automatically.
Navigate to the "Devices" heading in the left panel. Click on the iPod's name.
Click the "Summary" tab at the top of the page that loads.
Click the "Restore" button.
Click "Restore" again when the confirmation prompt appears. iTunes will restore the iPod, and it will reset.
Restore your iPod from a previous back up if you are using the computer last synced with device. Select the "Restore From the Backup of" option and click the drop-down arrow next to field. A list of backups will appear. Select one, then click the "Continue" button to finish the set up.
Select the "Set Up as a New iPod" if you don't want to restore from a back up or if you are not using the computer last synced with the device. Click "Continue" to complete the set up.
