How Do I Copy My Contacts From My Blackberry to My iPhone?

By Bennett Gavrish

If you are switching from a Blackberry smartphone to an Apple iPhone, transfer your stored contacts from one device to the other. There is no direct way to send contact data between a Blackberry and an iPhone, so use your desktop or laptop computer's Microsoft Outlook program to make the transmission from the Blackberry, then use iTunes to sync that data with your iPhone's address book.

Things You'll Need

  • Windows XP or later
  • iTunes 10 or later
  • Microsoft Outlook 2003 or later
  • Blackberry Desktop Manager

Step 1

Connect your Blackberry to your computer using the USB cable that came with the device.

Step 2

Launch the Blackberry Desktop Manager application on your computer and click on the "Synchronize" button in the upper right corner of the window.

Step 3

Highlight "Address Book" from the list of data services and press the "Setup" button.

Step 4

Select the radio button next to "One-way sync from device," then press "Next" and "Finish."

Step 5

Check the box next to "Synchronize organizer data," then press the "Synchronize" button to transfer contact data from your Blackberry into the Microsoft Outlook application.

Step 6

Close Blackberry Desktop Manager and launch iTunes.

Step 7

Plug the iPhone into the computer using an iPhone USB cable.
