How Do I Create a Profile in Windows Live Mail?
Creating a profile in Windows Live Mail in Windows 8 requires two separate processes. First, you need to create a new Windows Live account, and second, add the new account to the Mail app. In the end, you will have a new Windows email account with either Outlook or Hotmail, and you will be able to check your email in the Mail app in Windows 8.
Slide your mouse to the right side of your screen and choose "Settings" from the right sidebar.
Click "Change PC settings."
Click "Accounts" on the left sidebar.
Choose "Other accounts" and then click "Add an account."
Click "Sign up for a new email address" and click "Next" to continue.
Put down all the information that is required to create a new account.
Input your security information. In case you need to access the account but you've forgotten your user name and password, enter either a phone number or alternative email address. Then click "Next."
Type the verification code and click "Next."
Click "Finish" to complete the profile.
Check your new account.
Go to the Mail app and slide your mouse to the right side of the app. Then click "Settings."
Choose "Accounts" in the Settings section.
Add a new account.
Choose Outlook.com for the type of account you just created.
Type the email address and password for the new account that you just created.
You can now view your new profile in Windows Live Mail.
Tips & Warnings
- You will not be able to see the option for creating an @live.com email account because Microsoft has removed MSN. However, @outlook.com and @hotmail.com accounts are both used in Windows Live Mail.
