How Do I Find My Windows Server IP Address?

By Margaret Worthington

When your Windows Server is set up on a local network or it is directly connected to the web, an IP address is assigned to the computer. You can find out what this IP address is by running a command in the server's command prompt window.

Step 1

Log in to your Windows Server.

Step 2

Click the "Start" button, open "All Programs" and then open "Accessories."

Step 3

Open the "Command Prompt."

Step 4

Type "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) and press "Enter." The IP address is displayed in the Command Prompt window.
