How Do I Turn on Javascript on My Computer?

JavaScript is a coding language that allows certain Web applications to run properly on your computer. The way your browser reacts to the Web and how you interact with the Web as you surf depends on having JavaScript active in your browser. It takes about two minutes to makes sure that JavaScript is active and running correctly on your browser.

Internet Explorer

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer.

Step 2

Click "Tools." Scroll down and click "Internet Properties."

Step 3

Click the "Security" tab on the "Internet Properties" dialog box that appears. Hit the "Internet" icon and click the "Custom Level..." button at the bottom of the window.

Step 4

Scroll down to the "Scripting" section. Click on the radio button next to "Enable" under all of the scripting subcategories. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.

Step 5

Click "Apply" on the "Internet Properties" dialog box. Close all dialog boxes.

Step 6

Restart your Internet Explorer.

Safari

Step 1

Open your Safari browser.

Step 2

Click "Safari" in the main menu. Scroll down and click "Preferences."

Step 3

Hit the "Security" tab. Put a check mark in the box next to "Enable JavaScript" and close the box.

Step 4

Restart your Safari browser.
