How Do You Get the Row Header to Repeat on Each Page in Excel 2007?

By Greg Lindberg

Microsoft Excel 2007 is a spreadsheet application that allows you to create charts and graphs, store data and perform advanced calculations. When formatting your data, you can add a header or footer to your worksheet. It’s important to make sure the header or footer repeats on every page before you print your worksheet so that data can easily be understood. You can also adjust the header and footer options, including the ability to have a header repeat on only even or odd pages, to meet your preferences.

Step 1

Open Microsoft Excel 2007. Make sure the worksheet you want headers to repeat for is selected.

Step 2

Click on the “Insert” tab and then click on the “Header & Footer” option from the “Text” group. Click on the header textbox at the top of the worksheet and enter the text for your header.

Step 3

Click on the “Page Layout” tab and then click on the “Print Titles” option from the “Page Setup” group.

Step 4

Click on the “Sheet” tab and enter “$1:$1” into the “Rows to repeat at top” field in the “Print titles” section.

Step 5

Click on the “OK” button to save your changes. The row header will now repeat at the top of every page.
