How to Add Glue Records at GoDaddy
If you have a domain name where you want to set the name servers to a hostname that is under the domain itself, you need glue records. Glue records are just the IP addresses of the name servers. If you change the name server and do not add in the glue records, your domain name will not work. If you manage your domain names at GoDaddy, you can easily access your account and add glue records on your own to any of your domains.
Log into your account on the GoDaddy website (see Resources). Once you do this, click on "Domain Manager" under "Domains." This takes you to the account management for your domains.
Select the domain that you need to add the glue record to, and then click on "Advanced View."
Look to the left side of your screen for the "Host Summary" box. Click on "Add" to start adding glue records.
Type in the hostname, IPv4 address and any Pv6 nameserver records that you may have to add the records to your account. Click "OK" when you are done to save the changes.
Repeat step 4 for each glue record that you need to add to GoDaddy. It takes GoDaddy a couple of minutes to process each change to a domain, so you will not see the changes reflected immediately.
Make changes to your name servers once you have added all of the glue records. Click on "Set Name servers" to change to your new vanity name servers. Click "OK" when you are done to save the changes.
