How to Add Photos to an Email

By Bailey Richert

Email is a service users can access online or via a computer intranet system to let them send free messages to one another. Website hosts, such as Yahoo, MSN and Google, and software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, are all capable of handling email protocol. Email is a great way for friends and family to stay in touch because it allows digital files to also be shared. These files include digital photo files, and there are two main ways to send them. You can attach photos to an email for the recipient to download and view, or you can embed them directly into the body of an email using Microsoft Outlook without having to code your own program.

Things You'll Need

  • Digital photo file

Sending Digital Photographs as Attachments

Step 3

Click "Add Attachment." In the window that appears, use the drop-down menu at the top to locate the folder where your photo is stored. Double-click the photo file name.

Step 4

Wait until the progress bar that appears reaches 100 percent before hitting the "Send" button to send your email to its recipients. To add more photos to the email, simply hit "Add Attachment" again and repeat steps 3 and 4.

Embedding Digital Photographs in Microsoft Outlook

Step 1

A window to the right will appear. Move your mouse to the right, and select "From File." A window will appear detailing all the files contained on your hard drive and connected devices.
