How to Adjust the Resolution on an LG Plasma

An LG plasma TV has many options or modes available that can be used while watching a television show or a movie. They include changing the aspect ratio of the picture or video, and using the advanced features available on the TV. You can adjust the resolution on an LG plasma TV by accessing menu options onscreen with the remote, or you can use a button on the remote itself to quickly change the resolution or aspect ratio.

Using the Options Menu

Step 1

Turn on the television and then press the "Menu" button on the remote.

Step 2

Press the Up and Down arrow buttons to scroll through the available menu options.

Step 3

Select the "Options" menu and then press the Right arrow button.

Step 4

Press the Up and Down arrow and select the option for "Aspect Ratio."

Step 5

Press the Up and Down arrows to select a resolution and then press the Right arrow button.

Step 6

Press the "Exit" button to close the menu.

Using Advanced Cinema Mode

Step 1

Point the remote at the plasma TV and press the "Menu" button.

Step 2

Press the Right arrow button and use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select the "Advanced" option.

Step 3

Press the Right arrow button and use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select the "Cinema 3:2 Mode" option.

Step 4

Press the Right arrow button and use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select the "On or Off" option.

Step 5

Press the "Exit" button on the remote to close the menu.

Using the Ratio Button

Step 1

Point the remote at the plasma TV.

Step 2

Press the "Ratio" button on the remote to change the aspect ratio or the picture resolution.

Step 3

Repeat step 2 any time you need to quickly change the resolution of the plasma TV.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Advanced Cinema Mode will adjust the frames per second (fps) from 24 fps for movies to 30 fps on the display.
  • Aspect ratio can be found starting on page 42 and Advanced - Cinema 3:2 Pulldown Mode can be found on page 49 when viewing the Plasma TV Owner's Manual.
