How to Allow a Flash Player Plugin in Internet Explorer

The Adobe Flash Player plugin is used to view animations and movies using a computer program. You need to have Adobe Flash Player on your system in order to view animations and movies on websites that have them. It is widely used and the Flash Player plugin is available for the most recent web browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer 9. You can allow the Flash Player plugin in Internet Explorer through the Manage Add-ons screen.

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer by double-clicking the icon on your desktop. Alternately, click the Windows-logo button, "All Programs," and then click "Internet Explorer."

Step 2

Click "Tools" from the menu bar at the top, and then click "Manage Add-ons."

Step 3

Select "Shockwave Flash Object" in the list of add-ons. Right-click and select "Enable."

Step 4

Close the window by clicking the "X" in the upper-right corner.
