How to Block 800 Numbers on a Cell Phone

By Shelby Winchell

If you are receiving unwanted phone calls on your cell phone from 800 numbers, you're not alone. There is a way to block these numbers. You can do it by registering your phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry, either by phone or online. You can block phone calls from coming in, but you cannot block outgoing calls to 800 phone numbers.

Things You'll Need

  • Email address

Phone Registration

Dial 1-888-382-1222 from the cell phone you want to register on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Step 2

Press the "1" on your cell phone's keypad to register in English or press "2" for Spanish.

Step 3

Follow the prompt and press "1" on the phone's keypad to register your cell phone number. Type in the 10-digit phone number for your cell. Be sure to include the area code and phone number. You do not have to enter the number "1" before entering the area code.
