How to Block an Incoming Phone Number on AT&T

By Joanne Cichetti

Often when you do not want to speak to a particular person and yet he continues to call, you can simply block the number in order to prevent that person from reaching your phone. AT&T offers the feature of "Call Blocking" with which you can reject incoming calls from up to 6 different numbers. Upon blocking the number, the caller will hear the message "Your call cannot be completed. The number you are calling has activated Call Blocking, indicating that they do not wish to receive calls at this time."

Step 1

Press *60 on your phone keypad.

Step 2

Listen and follow the prompts.

Step 3

Dial the number that you want to block. The call blocking feature will then be activated and the selected number will no longer be able to call at your phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to turn the feature off, just press *80 on your phone and follow the prompts.
