How to Block My Number When Using Magic Jack

By Michael Jones

Using Magic Jack is a great way to save money on your home phone service. But because it uses your Internet connection, you won't have a caller ID that tells you who is calling. Another drawback is that Magic Jack won't allow you to register your number as private. If you want to block your calls from others' caller IDs, you can dial *67 before the number you're calling. Otherwise you will have to use a call spoofing service. Such a service allows you to call anybody and have a false number display on that person's caller ID.

Step 1

Go online and subscribe to a call spoofing service. You can find many of these services online, some of them free. A simple Internet search will yield many results. The spoofing service you decide to use is totally up to you.

Step 2

Log in to your call spoofing service online.

Step 3

Enter your phone number into the form. The spoofing service will first call you and then connect you to the person you want to call.

Step 4

Enter the phone number you want to call.

Step 5

Enter the phone number you want to have show up on the caller ID of the person you're calling.

Step 6

Send the call. The spoofing service will call you. Once you're on the line, the service will call the other party. The false number you entered will show up on the other party's caller ID.
