The MacBook Pro is Apple’s high-end laptop. As with all Apple computers, users can boot a MacBook Pro from a CD. You may need to boot your Mac from a CD in order to perform maintenance and repairs on the hard drive. A bootable CD is one that contains an operating system or a version of an operating system, so that the computer can start up. Apple ships all MacBook Pros with a bootable installation CD. In addition, many third-party computer repair programs come with a bootable CD.
Power off your MacBook Pro by going to the “Apple” menu, selecting “Shut Down” and pressing the “Shut Down” button.
Restart the MacBook Pro by pressing the power button. Hold down the “C” key while you start up the computer and keep it pressed.
