How to Burn a Movie & Subtitles for a DVD

DVD burners are great for burning home movies or other digital video files onto DVD to play on a stand alone DVD player. Sometimes it gets complicated if you want to incorporate other files like audio, pictures, or subtitles in with the video file. Fortunately there are programs out there that make it easy. Follow the steps below for help burning a movie and subtitle for a DVD.

Step

Download and install ConvertXtoDVD (link in resources).

Step

Open ConvertXtoDVD and click "File," "Add Video File" and browse for the video file you want to burn to DVD.

Step

Click on the "+" sign next to the video file. If there are no subtitles listed under "subtitles," right click on "Subtitle" and click "Add Subtitle." Browse for the subtitle file on your computer. If you don't have it, download from website like opensubtitles.org (link in resources).

Step

Select the default subtitle if you have more than one by right clicking on the subtitle file and selecting "Set as default subtitle."

Step

Click on "Convert" to turn your movie and subtitle files into a DVD compatible file.

Step

Burn the converted file onto a DVD with your preferred DVD burning software.
