How to Cancel Netflix
Netflix's growing popularity is evidenced in its 16 million members in the United States and Canada. Members enjoy the ease of ordering movies and television shows from the company's seemingly endless selections. There are a number of reasons why members need to cancel their accounts. In the current economic climate, more and more people are finding it necessary to tighten their financial belts by finding ways to cut monthly expenses wherever possible. Thankfully, Netflix has made membership cancellation a quick and easy process.
Things You'll Need
- Internet connection
Go to the Netflix homepage at http://www.netflix.com. Click on "Member Sign In" in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Enter the email address associated with your Netflix account in the top blank field. Enter your Netflix password in the bottom blank field. Click on the "Continue" button.
Click on "Your Account & Help" in the upper right-hand corner.
Click on "Cancel membership" in the third column under "Account Information" at the top of the page.
Read the terms of cancellation on the "Cancel Membership" page.
Click on the box next to the statement: "I accept and understand the terms of cancellation and want to cancel my account" at the bottom of the page.
Click the "Complete Cancellation" button.
Tips & Warnings
- You must return all Netflix DVDs within seven days of canceling your account or your credit card will be charged accordingly.
- You will not receive a refund if you cancel your account early in a billing period. Cancellations are effective as soon as you click the "Complete Cancellation" button.
- Canceling your Netflix account means you will no longer receive DVDs via the mail. Additionally, you will no longer have access to instant streaming on your computer and Netflix-ready devices will no longer be available.
