How to Cancel Your Dish Network

By Julie Duncan

If you find yourself in a difficult financial position, one of the easiest ways to cut back is on television programming. There are many alternatives to paying full price for premium satellite television programming. You can downgrade your package to basic programming to save or you can cancel your subscription completely. You can cancel Dish Network relatively easy either by telephone or letter.

Things You'll Need

  • Telephone
  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Stamp

Cancelling Dish Network

Step 1

Pick up the telephone and contact Dish at (800) 333-DISH. Ask to speak to a supervisor and advise her to cancel your subscription to Dish. The supervisor will most likely try to keep you as a customer and ask if there is anything Dish can do to keep you from canceling. You may even be offered discounts on programming or asked if they can just downgrade your package. Advise the supervisor that you still want to cancel and ask for confirmation of the cancellation.

Step 2

Write a letter to Dish Network, Customer Service Center, P.O. Box 33577, Northglenn, CO 80233 to confirm the cancellation you requested over the telephone. This step is important if you do not receive any confirmation from your telephone contact.

Step 3

Pay any remaining balance owed to Dish for your previous services. If you find any discrepancies in your final bill, contact DISH for an explanation of your bill or to dispute any amounts.
