How to Change a PDF to a JPEG

By Timothy Baron

PDF files are a convenient way to store visual and text information. They are compact files and can be opened with Adobe Acrobat. However, PDFs have two major drawbacks: They are difficult to integrate into web pages and they are not easy to edit. If you have to do one of these two things, sometimes it's easiest to just convert the PDF into another format such as JPG. This process is fast and easy using either graphics editing software or the online file converter Zamzar.

Things You'll Need

  • Graphics editing software

Graphics Software

Step 1

Launch your graphics editing software and open the PDF you intend to convert. Graphics editing programs include Adobe Photoshop and CorelDRAW, as well as the freeware editor GIMP.

Step 2

Click "File" and then "Save As."

Step 3

Choose "JPG" under the "File Type" drop-down menu.

Step 4

Click "Save." Your software will now convert the PDF into a JPG. It may also warn you that there will be a reduction in quality. If it does, click "OK" or "Continue."

Zamzar

Step 1

Go to Zamzar.com.

Step 2

Click "Choose File" and then choose your PDF.

Step 3

Select "jpg" under "Step 2."

Step 4

Enter your email address into "Step 3."

Step 5

Click "Convert." The JPG will now be sent to your email.
