How to Change My Homepage to Verizon Email

Verizon customers have the option of using Verizon’s web-based email client. Allowing users to manage their email messages from anywhere, the client features 2GB of storage, drag-and-drop technology, spam filters and virus protection. Users who use the service may want to set the homepage of their web browser to the Verizon email page. As a result, the Verizon email site will be the first one that users see each time they launch their browser.

Safari

Step

Access the “Safari” menu located at the top left corner of the Safari window. Click on "Preferences."

Click on the “General” tab.

Locate the “Home page” field. Type “http://webmail.Verizon.net/signin” If your browser is already at the Verizon webmail page, click on "Set to Current Page."

Click on the red “X” button in the left corner of the preferences menu to return to the browser window.

Mozilla Firefox

Navigate to the Verizon email webpage.

Click on the icon appearing to the immediate left of the webpage URL. Drag-and-drop it to the home button, represented by a house icon, on the toolbar. Alternatively, access the “Tools” menu and click on “Options.” Navigate to the “Main” panel if using Firefox 3.5 or the “General” panel if using other versions. Click on the “Use Current Pages” button.

Keep in mind that you can also manually enter the Verizon email address. To do so, select “Options” from the “Tools” menu. After navigating to either the “Main” or “General” panel, delete the text displayed in the “Startup” field. Enter the address of the Verizon email page and click “OK” to confirm the changes.

Internet Explorer

Step

Select “Internet Options” from the “Tools” menu if using Internet Explorer 5 or 6. Access the “General” tab. Type the Verizon email webpage address into the “Address” field. Alternatively, click on the “Use Current” button if you are currently viewing the Verizon email page.

Select “Internet Options” from the “View” menu if using Internet Explorer 4. Enter the Verizon email URL into the “Address” box or click “Use Current” if Internet Explorer is currently displaying the Verizon email page.

Click “OK” to save the changes you have made.
