How to Change Your Homepage Default
When you open your web browser, the first page that is displayed is the homepage you have set in the web browser settings. This homepage defaults to a Microsoft or Mozilla homepage in Internet Explorer or Firefox. Computer manufacturers usually have a homepage programmed into the configurations, but you can easily override it. In the option properties of the web browser, you can quickly change the homepage to your favorite website.
Open Internet Explorer and enter your favorite website into the web browser's navigation text box.
Click the "Tools" menu item at the top of the window. Select "Internet Options" from the menu items. This opens a new Properties window for the web browser.
Click the "General" tab. In the section labeled "Homepage," click the "Use Current" button. This sets the web page that is currently in your browser as the homepage. You can also enter a web page into the labeled text box.
Click the "Ok" button. Click the "Home" icon in the web browser. Internet Explorer navigates to your newly set homepage.
Open Firefox. Enter the homepage you want to use in the browser's navigation text box.
Click the "Tools" menu button at the top of the browser's toolbar. Select "Options" from the list of menu items.
Click the "General" tab. In this tab, click the "Use Current Page" button to set the current page as the homepage. You can also enter a website into the indicated text box. Press the "Ok" button.
