How to Clean an iPad
For any Apple iPad owner, maintaining the appearance of the device involves owning a microfiber cloth and using a case or cover on the device. The touch screen soon reflects the thousands of taps required to navigate the device and requires attention more often that the rest of the iPad. Use only water, and little of it, when cleaning the iPad. Cleaning solutions damage the multitouch screen.
Things You'll Need
- Microfiber cloth
Turn off the iPad before cleaning it and disconnect any cables or accessories attached to it.
Remove the case or cover if you use one.
Take the microfiber cloth and apply a small amount of water to it, so that the cloth is only slightly damp. Do not use any type of cleaner, including window cleaner, aerosol cleaner or any chemical.
Rub the exterior surfaces of the iPad gently with the dampened microfiber cloth. Continue until you have wiped away all the smudges on the screen and casing.
Use the dry portion of the microfiber cloth to dry off the phone and avoid streaks. Dry the iPad completely before turning it on.
Tips & Warnings
- Only use a soft, lint free cloth. Microfiber is preferred.
