How to Clean Zagg Plastic

By Mel Frank

Zagg plastic is used as an accessory for cell phones. The plastic is a thin, scratch-resistant layer of hard plastic that snugly fits over the front of the cell phone, protecting the phone's screen from scratches and cracking. This plastic is fairly inexpensive, especially when considering how much it would cost to replace a cellular device that has been cracked or scratched beyond repair. These plastic covers are also highly popular for use on touch-screen cell phones, protecting them from fingerprints and scratches that are common on this type of phone. Cleaning the Zagg plastic is an easy process.

Things You'll Need

  • Microfiber cloth
  • Glass cleaner

Step 1

Wipe the Zagg plastic with a microfiber cleaning cloth. These can be found most commonly in eyeglass stores, or near sunglasses in department stores, as they will quickly remove fingerprints and residue from delicate surfaces without causing scratches.

Step 2

Spray a mist of glass cleaner onto the microfiber cloth if the plastic has not yet been cleaned to your satisfaction. Continue wiping over the plastic.

Step 3

Replace the Zagg plastic if it is damaged or scratched beyond repair. These plastic covers come with a lifetime guarantee, meaning free replacement, or a replacement can be purchased for just a few dollars if needed.
