How to Clear History, Cookies and Cache on the Safari Web Browser for the IPhone

By Natasha Carlton

Safari is the default Internet Browser on the iPhone. Since it is a full browser, sometimes the most visited websites will act sluggish. Normally, the first suggestion a person receives it to clear the cache and cookies on the browser. In addition to clearing the cache and the cookie files, a person may need to clear the history information. The history file stores a link to all the previously visited websites using the Safari browser. Clearing this information is fairly easy and quick on the iPhone.

Step 1

Locate the "Settings" button and press it.

Step 2

Select "Safari" from the menu.

Step 3

Scroll down until "Clear History" appears on the Screen. Select it. A confirmation message will appear on the screen.

Step 4

Select "Clear History." This will bring you back to the Safari menu.

Step 5

Select "Clear Cookies." Once again, a confirmation screen will appear. Select "Clear Cookies." You are now on the Safari menu screen again.

Step 6

Select "Clear Cache." Once the confirmation screen loads, select "Clear Cache" again. At this point, the clearing process is complete.
