A TracFone is a prepaid wireless phone that allows you to purchase minutes before you use them. You don't sign a contract, so you can talk as much or as little as you want without a set monthly fee. If you have content on your phone you want to backup, such as pictures or text messages, you can connect your TracFone to your computer and import the information.

Launch the Internet browser on your computer and navigate to the manufacturer site of your wireless phone. TracFone isn't the manufacturer; it is the service provider. More than likely the phone is a Motorola or Nokia (the name is printed on the phone).
Click the "Support" option, then search your phone by model type. Select "Downloads" and download the driver. Double-click the downloaded driver to launch the installation wizard. Follow the brief set of prompts to complete the drive installation.
Plug the USB data cable into the power port on the TracFone. Plug the other end of the cable into a USB port on the computer. Momentarily, the computer will state it has detected a new removable device.
Access your phone by clicking the "Start" button, followed by "My Computer" (or "Computer") and double-click the removable device icon. You can now export or import content to and from your TracFone.
