How to Convert a Wab to a PST
Microsoft Outlook Express, the free email program associated with Internet Explorer, uses the Windows Address Book (.wab) file to save all your contacts in one file. The desktop email program and organizer Microsoft Outlook, however, is not compatible with WAB files. Instead, Outlook creates a data file called the Personal Folders File (.pst) to store the data from your Contacts folder. If you want to convert an Outlook Express WAB file to an Outlook PST data file, you must first copy your Outlook Express contacts to Outlook, and then create a PST file to store the imported data.
Things You'll Need

- Microsoft Outlook
Open Microsoft Outlook.
Click the "File" menu. Select "Import and Export."
Select "Import Internet Mail and Addresses" under "Choose an Action to Perform."

Type a new file name for the .pst file in the "File Name" box. Type a display name for the folder in the "Name" box.
Type a password for the file if you want to secure the file. The new .pst folder will appear in the Folder List under the "Go" menu.
