Certain motherboard manufacturers allow you to upgrade the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) via a CD. The data required to create a BIOS upgrade CD comes stored within an ISO file. The file will not work properly simply by burning it to a CD. Instead, you must use a disc-burning utility that has the ability to burn ISO files. After burning the contents of the ISO file to a CD, you can immediately use it to upgrade the BIOS.
Download and install a disc-burning utility, such CDBurnerXP (cdburnerxp.se), BurnAware Free (burnaware.com) or Free Disc Burner (dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Disc-Burner.htm). Open the disc-burning utility and use the "Burn ISO" or "Burn Image" options to burn the ISO image you want to convert to BIOS onto a blank CD.
Restart your computer with the newly burned CD inside the disc drive. When prompted, press the "Enter" key to boot from the CD.
Follow the onscreen instructions on the BIOS Setup to update the BIOS. During the upgrade process, remove the CD from the disc drive if prompted and press "Enter" to continue the BIOS Setup. Your computer will automatically restart after the update.
