How to Convert QuickTime to an iPad
QuickTime is a digital media platform developed by Apple and used in products such as iTunes, the iPod and the iPad. Both Mac and Windows users can import QuickTime video files into their iTunes libraries and play them on their computers. However, you may encounter an issue where a QuickTime movie cannot be transferred or played on your iPad. To fix this problem, you must use iTunes to convert the QuickTime file to a format compatible with the iPad.
Things You'll Need
- iTunes 10 or later
Open the iTunes application on your computer.
Go to "File" in the top menu bar and choose "Add to Library."
Click to select the QuickTime file that you want to play on your iPad and then hit "Choose."
Navigate to the "Movies" tab under the "Library" heading.
Click the thumbnail of the QuickTime file you just imported to highlight it.
Open the "Advanced" menu and choose the "Create iPad or Apple TV version." The iTunes program will convert the selected QuickTime file to a format compatible with the iPad.
Connect your iPad to your computer when the conversion finishes to transfer the new version of the file to your device.
