How to Convert Video Files to Email
As technology continues to advance, you can now send videos to people via email in addition to simple text-based messages. For this to work, you must first convert the video from the file on your computer to an email attachment. This sounds complicated, but it can be done in all email programs with just a few clicks. Sending a video file in an email can take a few seconds to 10 or more minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection.
Things You'll Need
- Internet Connection
Open the program you use to send and receive email. An example of this type of program would be Microsoft's Outlook Express. If you use an Internet email account like Google's Gmail, simply open your web browser and log into your account.
Create a new, blank email. In an email program like Outlook Express, this may involve clicking "File" and selecting "New Email." In an online account like Gmail, click "Compose."
Click the "Attachment" button in your email program or web-based email account. This allows you to browse your hard drive for the video file you wish to send.
Give the email a subject and a text. At this point, also specify the email address of the person you want to receive the email.
Click "Send." This will send the video file and email to the person you specified. Depending on your Internet connection and the size of the video, this could take a prolonged period of time.
