How to Copy BlackBerry Contacts to a SIM

Back up your personal phone contacts to your SIM card for additional safety. BlackBerry phones by Research In Motion provide users with the ability to use applications, email, text, take pictures, record video and of course make phone calls. It is a leader in the Smartphone category and can be used on multiple phone networks. Whether it is to upgrade the phone or just to back up information, it is a necessary process to copy your phone contacts to your SIM card.

Things You'll Need

  • Blackberry Smartphone

Step 1

Scroll or use the roller ball to get to the Address Book Icon. Push the roller ball or "Enter" key to open the Address Book or Contact list. The list will be arranged in alphabetical order.

Step 2

Scroll to the contact that will be added to the SIM card. Press the trackball or the "Enter" button to open the Contact. Highlight the phone number and press the "Menu" key.

Step 3

Click the "Copy to SIM Phone Book" option to transfer the contact to the SIM card. Press the "Menu" key and click "Save" to confirm the transfer. Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 to transfer the remaining contacts to the SIM card.
