How to Create a Free Hotmail Email Address
Hotmail was first created in 1996 to provide a free email account service. In 1997, Microsoft purchased Hotmail for $450 million. As of 2009, Hotmail had almost 300 million users. Hotmail's main competitors today are Google's Gmail and Yahoo's free email service. Hotmail accounts start with 5GB of storage and can grow as you need to store more. If you need free email, you can set up a Hotmail account and pick an original address in just a few minutes.
Open your Internet browser and go to the Hotmail homepage. Click "Sign Up" on the lower left of the screen.
Type in your desired ID and select "hotmail.com" from the drop-down menu next to the ID. If your ID is already taken, use one that is suggested or choose another of your own.
Complete the rest of the information requested. When you have finished and read the terms, click "I Accept" at the bottom of the page.
Wait for the page to load. When your Inbox loads, you will know that your account has been successfully created.
