How to Create a New Mailbox in Outlook

By Anthony Smith

One of the many useful features of Microsoft Outlook is that it allows the user to set up multiple mailboxes, or profiles as they are called by Outlook. This enables the user to receive emails from more than one email account,

Step 1

Go to the Windows desktop and click on the "Start" button. A menu of options with icons will appear.

Step 2

Select "Control Panel." From the control panel window that opens, select "Mail" and then from the "Mail Setup-Outlook" box that appears, click on the "Email Accounts" button (see graphic).

Step 3

Press the "Account Settings" box that appears, select the tab titled "New." Click on the icon labeled "New."

Step 4

Choose what type of server the new account will be using and click "Next."

Step 5

Enter your personal information in the fields provided in the "Add New Email Account." Click "Finish" and then "OK" and you have successfully set up a new mailbox in Outlook.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are unsure of the incoming and outgoing server addresses for the new email account, find those before starting this process.
