How to Create a Top 25 Most Played on an iPod
The iTunes Smart Playlist tool lets you generate automatic playlists based on specific rules. For example, you can use the Smart Playlist feature to create a song list based on musical artist, genre, beats per minute and other criteria. The tool also lets you filter songs by most and least often played. Create a new Smart Playlist composed of your top songs and then sync it to your iPod to enjoy the playlist on on the go.
Launch iTunes and then open the "File" menu. Select "New Smart Playlist." The Smart Playlist dialog box will open.
Uncheck the "Match to Following Rule" option at the top of the dialog box.
Select the box next to "Limit To" and then enter "25" into the text field. Click the drop-down arrow for the "Limit To" section and select "Items" from the list of options available.
Click the drop-down arrow next to "Selected By." Select "Most Often Played" from the list of options available.
Click the "OK" button. The new Smart Playlist will appear under the "Playlists" heading of the iTunes sidebar.
Connect your iPod to the computer. Navigate to the "Music" pane of the sync window when iTunes recognizes the iPod. Select the new playlist from the list and then click the "Sync" or "Apply" button to sync it to your iPod.
