How to Delete All Contacts on a 3G iPhone
If you have stored hundreds of contacts on your iPhone, deleting them one by one can be a very annoying and time-consuming process. Mass deleting is a quicker process that allows you to remove all the contacts at once, thus saving you time. Using iTunes (the default iPhone management program), you can remove all contacts easily, without adding others from email programs such as Outlook Express, using a simple resyncing process.
Things You'll Need
- USB cable
Connect your iPhone to a computer using the supplied USB cable and launch iTunes, if it does not launch automatically.
Click your iPhone on the left panel under "Devices" and click the "Info" tab.
Scroll down to the "Advanced" section and remove the check from "Contacts" under "Replace information on this phone." This will ensure that all your iPhone contacts are erased and email programs such as Outlook Express do not add other contacts.
Click "Sync." When the sync process completes, the contacts are erased from your phone. Click the "Eject" button on the left panel and disconnect your phone from the computer.
