How to Delete an Email Account From iPhone 4

By Kefa Olang

The iPhone 4 allows you to access your email everywhere. Once you configure your email, you can send and receive email messages using popular email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL. If you are no longer using one of your email accounts, delete it from your iPhone and free up system resources such as disk space. Once deleted, you can add your email account again or add a new account if you choose to.

Step 1

Turn on your iPhone and then drag the slider to the unlock position to display the home page.

Step 2

Tap "Settings" to display your phone's settings. Scroll down the settings and tap "Mail, Contacts and Calendars."

Step 3

Tap the email account you want to delete under "Accounts." Tap the "Delete Account" and tap "Delete Account" again to confirm your selection. The email account is removed.

Step 4

Press the "Menu" button to return to the home page.

  • Deleting your email account from your iPhone does not remove it from your computer.
