How to Delete Internet Explorer Search Box History

By Jennifer Moore

When you search for a topic using any of the search engines in Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8, the program tends to auto-fill the search term for you. This is a nice feature, but when you never clear the search box history, then it can cause confusion. You end up having long boxes of options and finding the right search term takes more time. By clearing the search box history, you narrow those options down, allowing you to make a faster selection. The process of eliminating the search box history is similar in all Internet Explorer versions, but versions 6 and 7 differ slightly.
