How to Delete Programs on Windows 7

By Thomas King

The Windows 7 operating system includes a tool called "Programs and Features." This tool, sometimes referred to as "Add/Remove" programs, allows you to delete almost any program that is currently installed on your Windows 7 operating system. Keep in mind, however, that many malicious programs, such as viruses, trojans and worms, do not allow themselves to be removed through the Programs and Features tool. You will need to use an anti-malware program to remove these programs.

Step 1

Click "Start," "Control Panel," "Programs," and "Programs and Features."

Step 2

Click the program you wish to delete and click "Uninstall/Change." You may be prompted to confirm the removal.

Step 3

Restart your computer. The program is no longer on your computer.
