How to Delete Script Error Messages

By Jason Candanedo

Script error messages appear in Internet Explorer when the program has problems reading the script on a particular website. Internet script errors are usually associated with specific websites and cannot be altered or removed except by the website's developer. On your end, you can alter Internet Explorer to block out display settings on these particular websites as well as disabling Internet script error messages in Explorer, which stops the script error message from appearing, thus effectively removing these messages.

Unblocking the Display Settings

Step 1

Double click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop to open and run Explorer. You are now going to unblock Internet display settings. When display settings are blocked, some components of websites can be stopped from running properly, leading to script errors and the resulting error messages. When unblocked, these website components and their scripts can run freely and without error, thus eliminating the error messages.

Step 2

Click on the "Tools" option in the top menu. Select "Internet Options" from the resulting drop down menu.

Step 3

Click on the "Security" tab in the "Internet Options" dialog box. Internet Explorer security settings will be displayed.

Step 4

Click on the "Default Level" or "Reset all zones to default level" button in the dialog. Click on the "Apply" button and then click on "OK" to close out the window and allow the changes to go into effect. Internet display settings are now unblocked and the system is reset to default settings.
