How to Delete Songs From an iPod Without iTunes

ITunes is the software included with your iPod that manages your music, videos and photos. In order to add or delete content from your iPod, you need to use iTunes or a similar program. For those who don't like the iTunes interface or don't have enough space on their computer for iTunes, there are iPod management programs available that are user-friendly, small and free. Now it is possible to delete content from your iPod without using iTunes.

Download a program called CopyTrans Manager from http://download.CNET.com/CopyTrans-Manager/3000-18546_4-10842241.html?tag=mncol;pop

Step

Click on the CopyTransManager.exe file to run the program.

Step

Connect your iPod to your computer with the iPod cable.

Step

Explore your iPod content using the CopyTransManager’s browser on the left margin.

Step

Select the songs you wish to delete and right click.

Step

Select “delete From iPod” and then select “yes” when it asks if you are sure.

Step

Click the eject button at the top left corner when complete.
