How to Delete Web Search on Internet Explorer

By Tiesha Whatley

At the top of your Internet Explorer browser, you may see a "My Web Search" toolbar. This search bar add-in was installed as a part of the Smiley Central or FunWebProducts program. Other web search toolbars are WebSearch Tools, Search Assistant and WebSearch Toolbar. No matter which of these toolbars is installed on your computer, all can be removed from Internet Explorer the same way by using the Control Panel inside of Windows.

Step 1

Open the Windows Control Panel by clicking "Start > Control Panel." Click on "Add/Remove Programs" or "Uninstall Programs."

Step 2

Look for "My Web Search," "WebSearch Toolbar," "WebSearch Tools," "Search Assistant" or "Win-Tools Easy Installer" listed in the programs installed on the computer. Click on the item and then click "Uninstall."

Step 3

Process through the "Uninstall" wizard to finish removing the web search from Internet Explorer. Close Internet Explorer if you had it running and restart it. The Web Search toolbar will be gone.
