How to Delete Your Internet Search History
When a user performs internet searches with a web browser, the Internet Search History is stored in the browser profile. The Internet Search History may be accessed by clicking the single "Star" in the top left of the browser toolbar in Internet Explorer, or by clicking the "History" link on the top navigation bar in Firefox. The History pane will launch on the left side of the browser window, displaying all sites visited by date and time. When sensitive information is recorded in the browser history, the user may wish to purge it from the browser profile.
Delete Internet Search History in Internet Explorer
Close all open Internet Explorer browser windows.
Open the Internet Explorer web browser.
Click the downward-pointing arrow next to the button labeled "Tools".
Click the "Internet Options" link from the context menu, and then click the "Delete" button in the section labeled "Browsing History."
Click the button labeled "Delete History" to delete only the browsing history data viewable in the left pane, or click the "Delete All" button to delete browsing history, temporary Internet files, passwords, form data and cookies.
Close Internet Explorer.
Delete Internet Search History in Firefox
Close all open Firefox browser windows.
Click the "Tools" option from the top navigation bar.
Click the "Clear Recent History" option. A Clear History dialog box will launch.
Click the dropdown box labeled "Time Range to Clean", and select a time range. Choices range from "Last Hour" to "Everything".
Click the "Details" button to show choices for deletion.
Check the checkbox in front of each option to delete. Choices include " Browsing & Download History," "Form & Search History," "Cookies," "Cache," "Active Logins",and "Site Preferences."
Click the "Clear Now" button once all choices are configured. Browser history will be deleted from Firefox.
Close the Firefox browser.
