How to Double Space a Word Document
Whether you are typing an essay, speech or report, often the purpose of the document requires double-spacing. Microsoft Word easily allows you to change the spacing within the software program to fit the needs of the user.
Click the "Format" menu.
Select the "Paragraph" option.
Click the "Line Spacing" drop-down box.
Select the "Double" option in the drop-down box.
Click "OK" after changing the line spacing.
Tips & Warnings
- If you have already typed text, highlight the text with your mouse. Press CTRL and 2 as a shortcut for double-space. To return to single-space, Press CTRL and 1.
