How to Download a Web Browser

Installing and maintaining more than one Web browser on your computer ensures you can always access websites should your favorite Web browser stop working or have trouble accessing a new website. Go to a Web browser download site and download the browser installation files for immediate installation, or install at a later time to always have more than one Web browser option available when you need to surf the Internet.

Things You'll Need

  • Microsoft Windows 7 computer with Internet Explorer enabled

Download the Google Chrome Web Browser

Step 1

Open the Internet Explorer Web browser and click once on the address bar located near the top of the browser.

Step 2

Type the URL of the Google Chrome -- google.com -- website into the address bar and press "Enter."

Step 3

Click the "Download Google Chrome" button located on the right side of the Google Chrome page that appears.

Step 4

Read the "Google Chrome Terms of Service." Click to clear the "Set Google Chrome as my default browser" check box if you do not want the Google Chrome Web browser to serve as your default Web browser. If you agree with the "Google Chrome Terms of Service," click the "Accept and Install" button to commence downloading Google Chrome. Installation of Google Chrome will start immediately after download.

Download the Apple Safari Web Browser

Step 1

Start Internet Explorer and click once on the address bar located near the top of the "Windows Internet Explorer" window.

Step 2

Enter the URL of the Apple Safari website -- apple.com -- into the address bar and tap "Enter."

Step 3

Click "Download Now." Click "Save" in the "File Download -- Security Warning" window that appears to download the Apple Safari installation file and save it to your computer.

Step 4

Navigate to a location on the computer hard drive where you wish to save the Apple Safari installation file and click "Save."

Download the Mozilla Firefox Web Browser

Step 1

Click "Start" on the Windows 7 taskbar and click "Programs" and then click "Internet Explorer." Click the address bar located near the top of the "Windows Internet Explorer" window that appears to highlight the contents of the address bar.

Step 2

Type the website address of the Mozilla Firefox website -- mozilla.com -- into the address bar and press "Enter."

Step 3

Click the green "Free Download" button on the Web page that appears. Click "Save" in the "File Download -- Security Warning" window. Browse to the location on the computer where you wish to save the Mozilla Firefox installation file in the "Save As" window.

Step 4

Click "Save" to commence the download process.
