How to Download Ebooks Onto Memory Cards

By Michael Butler

Downloading e-books allows you to load them on a mobile phone or a dedicated e-book reader for convenient and portable reading. Some phones and e-readers use memory cards to store books you have downloaded. You can save time by downloading the book directly to the memory card instead of saving it to your hard drive first.

Things You'll Need

  • Memory card
  • USB adapter for memory card

Step 1

Insert the memory card into the appropriate slot on your PC. If your computer does not have a slot for your memory card, you can purchase a USB adapter for most memory cards.

Step 2

Open your web browser and go to the site that contains the e-book you want to download.

Step 3

Right-click on the download link for the e-book. A pop-up menu will appear. Choose "Save Target As" or "Save Link As." Every browser is different. Yours may say something slightly different. A navigation window will pop up.

Step 4

Click "My Computer" in the navigation window. On Windows 7 it is in the left panel. Choose the drive in which you inserted your memory card.

Step 5

Click "OK." The e-book will download directly to the memory card.
