How to Download VLC Media Player
VLC Media Player is an incredibly versatile music and video player. Unlike Windows Media Player and iTunes, it handles almost any file format you throw at it with ease. It's also open-source, so its bugs are quickly addressed by programmers, making it easy for you to keep up with the latest developments in media encoding and playback.
Open your web browser and head to the VideoLan homepage at www.videolan.org.
Click on the "Download" link in the banner at the top of the page. If you'd like to read about the player before downloading it, click on the "Features" link. You can also get an idea of what it looks like by checking out the "Screenshots" page.
Find your operating system in the "Download VLC" list and click on it. The player supports many systems, so you should be able to find yours.
Pick the mirror you'd like to download from. In general, pick the one that's geographically closest to you.
Allow the installation file to download by giving the "OK" to any security warnings that pop up.
Run the installation file directly from the mirror if you've got a broadband connection. If not, choose to save it to your hard drive. When it's done downloading, follow the installation instructions and you'll be finished.
